The aim of conducting this project is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the Singapore-sponsored SkillsFuture project for helping it have a better improvement and implementation. SkillsFuture is a national movement introduced in 2015 that enable all Singaporeans to develop to their fullest potential, and realize their interests, passions and aspirations by taking advantages of a wide range of supports. Our research mainly focus on analyzing the current situation of SkillsFuture, including how the government initiates this movement, acquaint relative information about its cooperative institutions with courses, its supporting public agencies etc. This movement is significant and meaning as it is a critical lever to drive Singapore’s progression, to enhance comprehensive power and to support the development of ICT talents.
However, there still a few potential problems exist, hence it is necessary to conduct this kind of research and find out which aspects are mostly concerned by Singaporeans. Primary research will be done through the questionnaire method, which may help us identify more about people’s expectations and suggestions. The survey questions are designed to get the information about the implementation of the programme, the trend of future development potential industries, the courses that Singaporean are interested in and the possible barriers the government may face to prevent people from taking SkillsFuture courses. The target participants of our research specifically focus on Singaporean who is over 25 years old and we plan to have an overall of 100 populations. Furthermore, basic secondary research would also be conducted to support us to get more information and make this research more reliable and meaningful. Lastly, there would be some solutions and recommendations to resolve the potential problems and enable the successful realization of this national movement.
